Magical Mornings: My Top Ten Tricks to Create a High Energy Morning and Make it Last!

Yoga luluEvery yogi fashionista and chai drinking gal should know how to create a magical morning that can last all day long! Here are our top ten tricks to create a perfect morning that last all day long, from Deidre Siranni, Yoga Instructor and Wellness Enthusiast.

1.The Night Before
Have a hot bath to relax and allow yourself to forget about the “to do list”
Once a week, make it a detox bath which includes (baking soda, apple cider vinegar, Epson salts, Himalayan salts)

2.Wake up to an alarm clock that plays music (your favorite genre of course) rather than that dreaded beeping sound.

3.Get out of bed and in to your running shoes.  Go for a 15-20 minute walk or run to get the blood flowing and breathe the fresh air.

4.Cool down with a 5-10 minute stretch and create an intention for the day.

5.From your shoes and in to the shower.  Turn on your favorite upbeat playlist, start up the hot water, and add a few drops of eucalyptus.  Sing along to your favorite tunes while you enjoy an uplifting and clarifying eucalyptus steam shower.

6.Oil pulling with coconut oil.  Put a spoonful of coconut oil in your mouth and swoosh it around for a minute before spitting it out.  What I say about coconut oil….”I put that s*** on everything!”

7.Make breakfast your favorite meal of the day.  Choose 5 easy breakfasts that work for you and make which ever one suits your mood for that day.

8.Throughout the day, look for opportunities to try something new.  After all, everything awesome happens outside of your comfort zone.

9.Make a point to say hi to people who you cross paths with whether they are coworkers or total strangers.

10.Do a random act of kindness; you could make the day magical for someone else as well.

Confessions of a Boho Fashionista: Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

mirrormirror1 Hey Boho Beauties,

Last May I moved into my dream apartment. Something about it just oozed magic. It was my first time living without another person. Before I’d rented the place, which sat under oak trees and always smelled like maple syrup, I was dreading spending the summer solo.

But it didn’t take long before I realized that I’d created a sanctuary for myself. It was my own personal palace that I’d subconsciously designed in which to celebrate and support myself.  I’d unpacked plush throws, adorned the place in vanilla candles and hung flowing satin curtains. There was something sparkly about this space that was much different than any other home I’d lived in.  Every morning I rose, feeling excited about all of the synchronicities that might happen throughout the day, and late in the evenings I was inspired to write all of my greatest stories.

Friends from near and far would appear with gifts and stay late to drink wine, laugh and dance long into the night.  We would share stories of all of the places we’d been and the exciting people we’d met there.  One night in the thick of the summer, after cooking the largest fresh salmon I’d ever laid eyes on, we sat doe eyed around the stone fire.

“Your home is enchanting,” said one of my pals. “I noticed though, there’s something is missing.”

“What’s that?” I replied.

“You don’t have any mirrors,” she said, “None in the bathroom, no mirrors anywhere. What’s the deal?”

I looked around. She was right, there were no mirrors in my apartment. May had rushed into June and June shifted smoothly into July. Here we were smack dab in the middle of August and I’d not placed a mirror on any of my walls. I looked around the glow that lit up this circle of my closest friends. My gaze shifted lovingly from pal to pal: Their wide eyes, their open hearts, their curious minds.

Then it hit me: I had many mirrors.  The mirrors I’d placed around my home were much more valuable than any picture of myself in a glass reflection.  The home I’d created and the beautiful gal pals in it were the best mirrors I could have picked out.awakening

Next time you’re self-reflecting, pop on your Awakening Mala and remember that all that you have created in your life is a beautiful reflection of who you are, no mirrors required.

Confessions from a Boho Fashionista: Eat the Love You Feel

tdloveHey Boho Beauties,

It’s Valentine’s day in Bohemia, and I’m prepping for a romantic evening with my favorite special someone.

I spent a week visiting my super boho sister in San Francisco last spring, and she took me to a cooking class that blew our Californian minds. It wasn’t the class or the bronzed babe who taught it that made it so unbelievable. It was the simple, secret ingredient she shared with us that changed the way I cook forever.

I love to pay it forward, so this Valentine’s day my gift to you goddesses is the gift that Californian Chef gave to me.

Step One: Be a gourmet guru with love on your brain

After my week in the valley, I started cooking with love. Let me be more specific. Every time I walked into my kitchen, I went in with love on my mind.  I chopped veggies, and remembered sweet moments I’d spent with loved ones. I pulled dense leaves from kale stems, thought about times I’d felt sparkly and considered the people or places that made me feel that way. Then, I splashed oil and seeds on top of those beautiful culinary creations and soaked up the love.

Step Two: Eat the Love You Feel

Once the chow is ready, it’s time to eat the love. The magic in preparing a dish with love on your brain is that you are literally eating the love you felt when you made it. Pretty rad! Sit down, take a breath and let the quality love and kindness sink in.

Step Three: Share the Love You Madelet love in mala

After I’ve really felt the love, my favorite thing to do is share it. Those who’ve found the deepest love know that giving means receiving, so share that love-filled grub with your best gal pal or your sweetest honey.

My sweetie just showed up, so I’m putting on my Let Love In Mala and thinking some loving thoughts. Tonight when you’re massaging kale and cutting up veg, remember the people in your life who make it easy to love.

Confessions of a Boho Fashionista

Hey Boho Beauties,

I’m warming up with a cup of sweet cinnamon tea and I thought I’d open up my moleskin and pop down some intentions for the weekend. That’s right bellas—it’s not just for New Years or special occasions, the power of intention works all the time.

The greatest time for goddesses to set intentions is in the soft light of the morning, while your dreams are still fresh and your heart is wide open.

It’s winter-time in Canada, but a true gypsy keeps her summer-heart all year round. That’s why as I write this down, I’m reflecting on the spirit of the summer passed and the nights I spent watching dragon flies dance (just like we gypsies do) and the Super moon that lit up the night sky.

A Super moon is a special phenomenon that happens very rarely. This chance occurrence creates a serious sense of magic and creativity. In ancient times, beautiful princesses who adorned themselves in crystals and gemstones would sit under the moon, cast their dreams below its light and pray for the creative genius that would spark from the moon’s light.

The Super moon does more than just spark creativity—it wraps a warm sheath of unconditional love and divine power on the beauty who dances under its light. When you’re under the glow of the super moon, you trust in your creative nature without a shadow of a doubt. This is because the Super moon provides unconditional love that guides us on our bohemian paths.

In the chill of the winter, when the sky is dark and the moon is nowhere to be found, I’m wearing my Supermoon Mala and setting my intentions on the divine creativity that lives deep within us all.

Put on your Super Moon Mala’s beauties, remember your summer-heart and go light some creative sparks.
